Weekend Highlights

I spent this past weekend in a state of crazy happiness.

Friday morning began with the most toxic of poops. Truly vile.

Later on, Charlie and I met up with Baby J and her mommy for lunch and a walk around the mall. Baby J is only five days older than Charlie, so Sher and I are on the same page about a lot of things right now.

(I love the above photo! Baby J looks so cute, and Charlie is making his all-too-familiar "I'm stretching" face.)

I spent a lot of money at Carter's buying Charlie clothes that he really doesn't need. But I really wanted to because I haven't been able to buy him any clothes yet (thanks to the generosity of others). I also bought him an activity mat, which he loves. Bonus: it makes tummy time so much more enjoyable for Charlie.

As usual, we were up ridiculously early on Saturday morning so we decided to go for a walk. We ended up walking up Mt. Rubidoux and back and then to the local farmer's market. It was the first time ever I'd been able to make it up the mountain (because I am a wuss), so I was really proud of myself for doing it eight weeks post C-section.

I got to take lots of photos, which made me happy, and Roy and I got to have one of our famous walking conversations, and Charlie snoozed happily the entire time.

That evening, Mandy and Paul came over to watch Charlie while Roy and I had date night. We went to a movie and then browsed at one of my current favorite places. I thought about Charlie constantly during the movie. It's still tough to leave him.

But Roy and I needed the time to recharge and reconnect.

On Sunday, we went for another walk in the morning, this time to Clark's, and on the way back, we discovered a new place:

The inside was very cool, but I felt too shy to take pictures right then because they were actually closed but let us in so we could feed Charlie. Hopefully we'll go back some time and listen to some live music.

(We did other things too, like go to family dinner on Sunday night, but I forgot to take photos.)

I want all weekends to be as good as this one was.
