30 Days of Happiness, Day 11: You and Me and Five Bucks*

* Whoever can tell me which movie that's from gets a cookie. Whatever kind you want.

Today Melinda and I stuffed Charlie and his 187847486 pounds of stuff into the car and drove to Ikea.** It was glorious. I love Ikea and want to live there.

**Forgot to mention that Charlie pulled the same stunt he did last Saturday, decided to poop the second we got him secured in his car seat. Rockin'.

Melinda and her husband are trapped in House-Buying Hell, but the good thing about House-Buying Hell is that you get to think about what kind of stuff you want to put in your new house. Hence, the Ikea trip. Neither of us bought a damn thing,*** but I saw a lot of things I liked, but I only took a photo of this:

It's so not me, but for some reason I really like it.

***I lied! We both bought $5 lunches and then Melinda bought some weird food stuff.

Charlie expressed maximum hatred for his car seat, so I strapped him to me. Easy peasy.

Melinda and I found great items in the animal bed department.

On our way home, we saw some really great examples of douchebaggery. People on the freeways out here suck at life. But we managed to do what we do best: gab, gab, gab. We gabbed so much we put Charlie to sleep.**** I love talking to Melinda. I love Ikea. It was a good day.

****And speaking of Charlie and sleep, he woke up at about 5:45 this morning and I wanted to die. Luckily, he went back to sleep at 6:30 and stayed that way until 9:45. Is this really my kid?

Charlie is so cute - he looks like a little doll :)

I love Ikea, too! In fact, if this babe inside of me is a girl, I'm thinking that light fixture you took a picture of would be super cute in a girly room :)

Reality Bites! I want a peanut butter cookie. Or maybe a Framboise cookie. Send it over with a team of squirrels.

Reality Bites! "You see, Lainey. This is all we need. A couple of smokes, a cup of coffee, and a little bit of conversation. You and me and five bucks."

Do not challenge me, for I will recite every word of that movie verbatim.

I JUST got back from IKEA. It rocks--you can shop, eat, people watch, and have soooo much fun for almost no money. Perfect-o!

Sounds like a lovely day!! We are Ikea loving fools - a good majority of our furniture is from there and people always mistake it for stuff that is much more $$. Hehehe.
