I'm 28 weeks pregnant today. Check me out:
Now that's what I call a belly!
I'm still feeling pretty good, and I'm not overly tired. I have slowed down some, and I'm definitely not as nimble. (I like the word "nimble." Sadly, it's not used much anymore.) I am getting to the point where it's uncomfortable to wear clothes, mostly jeans. My legs feel huge a lot of the time, kind of like tree trunks. And as I'm sure you're all aware, it's hard to put jeans on trees.
I have been wearing my nursing bras at home, and oh my gah, they have no support whatsoever, but they are so comfortable. I've also been wearing Roy's sweatpants at home. I tried to put on a pair of pre-pregnancy velour pants the other day, and Roy was kind enough to tell me that I had a raging case of camel toe going on. My response: "Well, camel toe can be hot, right?"
As you can see, pregnancy is extremely glamorous. I am hairy, leaky, and just plain ol' big. Still, though, I'd do me.
This week was incredibly busy, with appointments every single day and lots of things to take care of. I have a long list of things I'd like to get done before Charlie is born, but I'm sure some of it just won't get done. I do have a feeling that things are going to be absolutely crazy from here on out - only 84 days to go!
I had my OB appointment yesterday, and it was quick and easy. I've gained five pounds in the past month. My blood pressure was good, Charlie's heartbeat was normal, and everything is measuring fine. Through April, I'll be seeing my OB twice a month instead of once. Once May comes around, it'll be every week.
Sadly, I started having some tooth pain this week and got in to see the dentist right away. Turns out some of the work that he was going to wait to do needs to be done sooner rather than later, so next week I will go in and have two crowns put on. Yuck. I'm so not looking forward to it, but I'm counting my blessings that insurance will cover most, if not all, of it and that I don't have to have root canals as well. (My advice to those of you TTC out there - take care of your dental work before you get pregnant!)
Roy and I picked the paint color for Charlie's room, and he did a little painting last weekend to see how it would look. Check it out:
(Yes, I know, blue walls for a boy are so cliche.) He's going to paint the rest of the room this weekend. We're also going to our first childbirth class tonight, and I'm pretty excited.
We met with a pediatrician this week and really, really, really liked him. Many websites say that you shouldn't just go with the first pedi you meet with, but I think that this doctor is a really good fit for us and our philosophy of parenting. I could easily imagine him as Charlie's doctor. It helps that a couple of people I know have vouched for him and his practice.
One of the nurses at his office had the longest. nails. ever.
Very strange. Quite the topic of conversation between me and Roy. I couldn't help but wonder how she masturbates. How's that for TMI?

You know, I've always had a hard time getting jeans on tree trunks. Hmmm. But you look totally hot.
